Monkeyshine Theatre Company
Monkeyshine creates theatre experiences for children of all ages and their families. The company aims to create original and innovative theatre experiences by telling stories and celebrating humanity, with honesty, intelligence, imagination, wit and beauty.
Monkeyshine pushes the boundaries of their art and strives to challenge and stimulate both the audience and themselves. Established in 1999 Monkeyshine has toured throughout Ireland, both North and South, as well as to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, the Glastonbury Music Festival and above the Arctic Circle to the Stamsund International Theatre Festival in Norway.
The company, led by artistic director Kareen Pennefather, works as an ever-changing ensemble of performers, musicians, artists and technicians fusing diverse performance techniques to create their own unusual and dynamic brand of theatre. The company is passionate about their multi-disciplined creative process and as a team are continually sharing and developing skills.
